Shopping and Dining
Haenertsburg and Magoebaskloof offers an interesting selection of shops and restaurants - something for everyone!
Shopping
In the Village of Haenertsburg, Rissik Street is the place to go shopping. At the entrance to the village is Meadows Café, a small well-stocked general dealer's store with a convenient parking area. Further up the street is LiquorZone, boasting an outstanding Wine Cellar. Around the corner in Rush Street you will find Tank Trap FoodZone, where you can stock up on fresh or frozen food, organic milk, cheese and yoghurt, bread, freshly baked croissants, tinned food, newspapers, magazines, health care items and even hardware or just about anything else you might need.
Next to Foodzone you will find TM Reservations. Here Yolandie can help you with your accommodation needs and have lots of information on the area.
The Wild Olive, an antique and collectibles shop, will charm you with their eclectic selection of treasures from days gone by.
Further up is The Elms, a delightful gift shop which sells local and imported goods. Next door is Market Time, a quaint little Village Market which sells home-made jams and pickles, fresh vegetables, pies, bread and cakes as well as second-hand books and craft items. Open only on Fridays and Saturdays it is the favorite meeting place for villagers who come there to catch up on news while stocking up on delectable goodies.
Just beyond the Village Hall is the Pennefather Complex. Pop into Golden Nuggets for collectables and antiques and then step across to Memory Hold-the-door second hand bookstore for a literary experience, coffee with condensed milk and boerebeskuit, homemade sweeties and preserves.
Then cross the road to The Widow Brook's Emporium of Useless and Desirable Objets where you well find a charming collection of hand-made decorative warm glass items, collectibles, art, pottery, photographs and useless and desirable objets!
